Dr. Pradeep Chowbey is a globally renowned pioneer in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery, with over 50 years of surgical excellence. He currently serves as Group Chairman – Max Institute of Laparoscopic, Endoscopic, Bariatric & Gastrointestinal Surgery at Max Healthcare.

Widely regarded as one of the founding figures of minimal access surgery in India, Dr. Chowbey has performed over 98,000+ surgeries and trained more than 20,000 surgeons worldwide. He is among the first surgeons to introduce laparoscopic cholecystectomy in North India and the first in the Asia-Pacific region to perform MAFT (Minimally Invasive Fistula Technology).

His institute at Max Healthcare became the first in India to receive Center of Excellence accreditation for Bariatric and Hernia Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation (USA).
