Dr. Nigel Symss is a well regarded Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon with over 16 years of expertise doing complex cranial and spinal procedures. He currently practices at Gleneagles Global Health City in Chennai, where he has a solid academic basis, global fellowship training, and a strong commitment to patient-centered neurosurgical care.

Dr. Symss received his MBBS from Bangalore Medical College before pursuing DNB Neurosurgery at the prestigious Postgraduate Institute of Neurological Surgery, VHS Medical Centre, Chennai, where he graduated in 2005. After qualifying, he performed over 5,000 complicated neurosurgical procedures on both adults and children, exhibiting expertise in a variety of fields ranging from skull base surgery to functional neurosurgery.

Dr. Symss improved his talents in paediatric neurosurgery, neuroendoscopy, micro neurosurgery, spine surgery, and functional neurosurgery as part of prominent fellowships held in Japan and Australia. He has worked at prestigious institutions such as Jikei University in Tokyo and Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, where he was trained in cutting-edge neurosurgery methods.

Dr Symss is a recognised authority in his profession, having published over 24 papers in Indian and international journals, written multiple textbook chapters, and attended numerous worldwide neurosurgery conferences. He also serves on the editorial boards of international journals focused on hydrocephalus and neuroendoscopy.
