About Dr. Mohit Sharma

Dr. Mohit Sharma is a highly accomplished Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with over two decades of experience in advanced reconstructive microsurgery, hand transplantation, and aesthetic reconstruction. He completed his MCh in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, in 2002, one of India’s premier training centers for complex reconstructive procedures.

Since 2002, Dr. Sharma has been an integral part of Amrita Hospital, initially at Kochi and now leading the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad.

He and his team have pioneered India’s first Vascularised Composite Allotransplantation (VCA) program, performing some of the world’s earliest and most successful hand transplants, making Amrita one of the global leaders in this field.

Dr. Sharma has also completed clinical fellowships in Burns and Hand Surgery from St. Andrew’s Centre for Plastic Surgery, UK — the largest burns unit and one of the leading reconstructive surgery centers in Europe. Over the years, he has trained with renowned surgeons worldwide and is recognized for his expertise in solving complex reconstructive problems using microvascular techniques.
