Dr. Anvay Mulay

Dr. Anvay Mulay is an internationally recognized cardio-vascular and thoracic surgeon with over 30 years of international experience in advanced cardiac care. He is currently the Director of Cardiac Surgery at Sir H.N.  Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai. Dr. Mulay has a solid academic background and international training, and he has been a pioneer in building advanced heart and lung transplant programs in India and the Caribbean.

He received his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Grant Medical College, University of Bombay, before going on to finish his MCh in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery in 1990. He later specialized in cardiothoracic surgery, receiving training at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the prestigious St. Vincent’s Fellowship in heart surgery in Oregon, USA.

Dr. Mulay has helped to develop cardiac services in a number of nations, including the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Caribbean. He was the Head of Cardiac Surgery at Caribbean Heart Care in Trinidad and Tobago from 2003 to 2009, and he has also worked at prestigious institutions such as Starr-Wood Cardiac Group in the United States and Leeds General Infirmary in the UK.

He is known for doing complicated surgeries such heart and lung transplants, minimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repairs, aortic aneurysm surgeries, and pulmonary endarterectomy. He also organized Open Heart Surgery camps in distant areas of Maharashtra, making cardiac care available to neglected populations.
