Dr. Vivek Vij

Dr. (Prof.) Vivek Vij is an internationally renowned liver transplant surgeon with more than 25 years of specialised expertise in liver transplantation and hepatobiliary sciences. Dr. Vij, presently the Chairman of Liver Transplant and Hepatobiliary Sciences at Fortis Group of Hospitals, has spearheaded several advancements in living donor liver transplant surgery in India. With over 4,000 successful liver transplants, a 97% patient survival rate, and 100% donor safety, his clinical outcomes rank among the finest globally.

Dr. Vij is the inaugural surgeon from the Indian subcontinent to write a series on laparoscopic donor hepatectomy in the esteemed journal Liver Transplantation. His research concentrates on augmenting donor safety, medically controlling liver disorders, and optimising transplant results. He has published more than 50 works and spoken at premier international conferences, including the American Journal of Transplantation and Liver Transplantation.
