Dr. Vaibhav Bagaria

Dr. Vaibhav Bagaria is a renowned Orthopaedic and Joint Replacement Surgeon with over 20 years of experience, now working as Director of Orthopaedics at the H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai. He is a pioneer of robotic knee replacement surgery in India and is well-known for his superior competence in hip and knee replacements.

Dr. Bagaria has an MBBS and MS (Orthopaedics) from KEM Hospital in Mumbai. He has completed many overseas fellowships, including notable programs at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Hollywood Private Hospital in Perth, Australia, Avenue Hospital in Melbourne, Sportsmed SA in Adelaide, and the Medical College of Wisconsin in the United States America. He also had training in Germany’s Endoklinik and Koenig Ludwig House, and he is notable as the first Indian to pass the SICOT International Diploma Examination.

He has extensive clinical expertise managing difficult joint replacement surgeries such as hip resurfacing, unicondylar knee replacements, revision procedures, and pelvic-acetabular reconstructions. He also specialises in arthroscopic knee and ankle procedures, sports medicine, high tibial osteotomy, and 3D-printed orthopaedic solutions.

In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Bagaria is actively interested in orthopaedic research and development. He has published widely in peer-reviewed publications and written multiple book chapters. His awards include the Korean Orthopaedic Award, the Lester Lowe Award from the World Orthopaedic Congress in Istanbul (2005), and the honour of carrying the Olympic Torch during the 2008 Beijing Games.
