Dr. (Prof.) Sumit Batra

Dr. (Prof.) Sumit Batra is an experienced and internationally qualified orthopaedic and joint replacement surgeon with more than 24 years of clinical expertise. He presently serves as the Program Clinical Director of the Department of Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement at Marengo Asia Hospitals, Faridabad, where he directs a proficient team dedicated to providing modern musculoskeletal treatment.

Dr. Batra got his MBBS from University College of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi, and afterwards earned an MS in Orthopaedics from Maulana Azad Medical College. He then obtained the esteemed DNB in Orthopaedics and completed his FRCS in Trauma & Orthopaedics from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK. His overseas training included advanced fellowships in the UK at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Great Western Hospital, and Alexandra Hospital, focussing on spine surgery and intricate orthopaedic treatments.

Dr. Batra possesses a robust academic background and a fervour for innovation, along with extensive skill in total knee and hip arthroplasties, spine operations, minimally invasive techniques, trauma care, and limb deformity repair utilising the Ilizarov method. He has proficiently executed hundreds of orthopaedic and spinal treatments, encompassing microdiscectomy, spinal decompression, and fixation surgeries of the cervical and lumbar spine.

His prior appointments including senior consultant responsibilities at Max Hospital in New Delhi and the Asian Institute of Medical Sciences in Faridabad. He additionally held the position of Assistant Professor at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. Furthermore, he has overseen DNB Orthopaedics training, actively guiding the forthcoming generation of orthopaedic surgeons.
