Dr. Sanjay Nagral

Dr. Sanjay Nagral is a well-known surgical gastroenterologist with over 26 years of expertise doing hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and liver transplants. He currently serves as the Director of Research and Academics for the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology at Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai. Dr. Nagral, known for his clinical acumen and ethical dedication, has contributed significantly to the advancement of liver and HPB surgery in India.

Dr. Nagral received his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Seth G.S. Medical College and K.E.M. Hospital, University of Mumbai, and then went on to further his studies in hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplantation at King’s College Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital in London. He has an accreditation of Sponsored Training from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

He has carried out hundreds of difficult HPB surgeries and liver transplants, with an emphasis on surgical accuracy and long-term patient results. Dr. Nagral is also an academic, teacher, writer, and public health advocate, with over 140 indexed articles and many textbook contributions. His knowledge and support for ethical transplant methods have gained him positions on national and international advisory boards.
