About Dr. Rahul Bhargava
Dr Rahul Bhargava is a recognised haematologist and specialist in bone marrow transplants with more than 20 years of clinical and academic experience. He presently serves as the Principal Director and Chief of Haematology, Haemato-Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) at Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram, which is one of India’s leading integrated centres of excellence in haematology and paediatrics.
Dr Bhargava, an early pioneer in his field, became the first Indian doctor in 2016 to perform and promote stem cell transplants for multiple sclerosis. He has performed over 1,200 successful stem cell transplants and is well-known for his work in haploid transplants, unrelated donor transplants, and paediatric haematology.
He has also established six low-cost transplant clinics across India and has worked relentlessly to develop community haematology through projects like “Say No to Whole Blood” and “Anaemia-Free India.” Dr Bhargava also actively participates in training and intellectual collaborations in India, Africa, and Central Asia. His dedication to knowledge sharing is shown in the 250+ CME sessions he has led around the world.
