Dr. P. Suryanarayan is a highly respected orthopaedic surgeon with over three decades of clinical expertise. Dr. Suryanarayan earned his MBBS in 1983 and MS (Orthopaedics) in 1985 from the University of Bombay and Lokmanya Tilak Medical College, respectively. He expanded his knowledge by completing fellowships in arthroplasty and reconstructive joint surgery at internationally renowned institutions such as The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York (under Prof. Chitranjan S. Ranawat), The Wagner Clinic in Germany (Prof. Heinz Wagner), and Inselspital, University of Bern in Switzerland (Prof. Reinhold Ganz), all through the prestigious Indo-German Fellowship program.
He is renowned for pioneering procedures in hip and knee replacement and has specialised in arthroplasty since 1994. He was President of the Indian Society of Hip and Knee Surgeons (ISHKS) from 2011 to 2012 and was appointed Adjunct Professor (Orthopaedics) at Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University in 2012.
He is a staunch supporter of technology-driven surgery, having headed the CT-based PSI (Patient-Specific Instrumentation) development team for navigation-assisted procedures in partnership with industry experts.
