Dr. Arvinder Singh Soin is a liver transplant and hepatobiliary surgeon who is known all over the world for being one of the first people in India to do a liver transplant. He has been a surgeon for more than 30 years and has done more than 4,500 liver operations, including more than 400 on children. His success rate is one of the best in the world. Dr. Soin is the Chairman of the Institute of Liver Transplantation at Medanta – The Medicity. He is in charge of a very specialised team that does 20–25 liver operations every month and has a 95% success rate. He was also very important in setting up India’s biggest liver care unit, and he has taught many transplant teams in South Asia and the Middle East.
